and surprising ways.
TECHNOLOGY !
is a documentary series about how our high technology has changed us and
is changing our world every day.
We will discover in the first
episode that Government funding is responsible
for much of the technology that we use today. Not only have important
products come out of Government funded research, but every day, new
companies are being formed and grown with the assistance of Government
programs..
Next, we learn how
sophisticated simulation technologies, what we call “serious
make-believe”, have revolutionized training programs. Not just for
pilots anymore, sophisticated new simulators train doctors, police
officers and many others, too. Further along we look at
lasers and special optical devices that use light to do thousands of
tasks unheard of five years ago. By reaching out to embrace new technologies we have changed ourselves. We think differently about time. We see history from a new viewpoint. From international relationships, to compelling insights in ecology, from dazzling electronics to artificial limbs, Man’s exploration of new technologies has provided all of us a multitude of unexpected benefits.
